Head Over Heels 'Pacha' ankle boots

As some of you may recall, I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of tan ankle boots for absolutely ages now, so when House of Fraser got in touch and asked if I’d like to review a pair of their ankle boots, I knew exactly what I was looking for.

Sometimes there’s a big difference between knowing what you’re looking for and actually finding what you’re looking for, though, and, for me, ankle boots are one of those items that can be pretty tricky to get right. In this case, I was looking for the perfect shade of tan (i.e. not too brown, not too beige), a heel that wasn’t too high OR too short, and an ankle width that wasn’t so wide I’d be able to fit both legs in it at once – which so often seems to be the case with most of the the ankle boots I try.

Well, luckily for me, House of Fraser had exactly what I was looking for: and here they are!

These are the ‘Pacha’ Western inspired boots by Head Over Heels, and although I was looking for tan boots, I have to admit, I was almost won over by the green version that’s also available – and which has now gone straight onto my wish list! From that, you’ll probably have gathered that I’m pretty happy with my new boots, which manage to check all of the boxes in terms of what I was looking for. These aren’t real leather (which helps explain the GBP48 price tag), but they have a great quality, man-made upper, a medium-height heel and my usual size 4 fit me perfectly, so I’d say they’re true to size, too.

I’ve kind of switched allegiance this year from knee/over-the-knee boots, which I used to wear all winter long, to ankle or shoe boots, which I find more comfortable, as well as working better with the slightly more casual style I’ve adopted recently. I’ve also invested in quite a few dark green or khaki pieces, which I think these will work really well with, so I’m looking forward to getting a lot of use out of them over the coming months. Now, about that green colour…

  1. Another great share. Is that sole wooden? These heeled boots are really nice and appear to be very comfortable as well.
